Régis Chaperon participará en on form 2014: la única exposición en el Reino Unido dedicada exclusivamente a la escultura en piedra.
Han sido seleccionados 30 escultores y se expondrán cerca de 200 trabajos en los magníficos jardines del Asthall Manor en Oxford.
Tendrá lugar del 8 de junio al 6 de julio de 2014.

Thirty sculptors have been selected and nearly 200 works will be placed in Asthall Manor's exquisite gardens in Oxford.

Régis Chaperon

El escultor francés Régis Chaperon tiene una formación de talla en piedra, con una carrera profesional que data de cuando comenzó su aprendizaje a los 17 años de edad, con la escuela francesa de cantería, " Le Compagnons du Devoir".

Su sensibilidad natural para la forma y su aptitud artística lo condujo a Carrara y, más tarde, a la Universidad de Valencia, España donde se empapó en conceptos contemporáneos de arte.

El trabajo de Régis Chaperon parte del estilo figurativo hasta desembocar en la abstracción y el diseño. Las líneas puras y simples se combinan con el empleo de texturas, creando contrastes entre el pulido y la rotura natural de la piedra. Su objetivo es revelar la belleza del material, guiándose por conceptos fundamentales como: el dinamismo y la sensualidad. Es importante que sus esculturas sean un medio accesible y entendible para todo el mundo.

Las obras de Régis se encuentran en colecciones privadas en Inglaterra, Francia y España y en galerías en Londres y Oxfordshire.

Ha realizado escultura pública en Alemania, Italia y República Checa y trabaja en comisiones privadas y públicas por todo el mundo. Está especializado en otro tipo de encargos como el mobiliario urbano o el diseño interior donde une su visión artística y su considerable conocimiento técnico de la talla en piedra.

French sculptor Régis Chaperon has a background in stone masonry, with a professional career that goes back to when he started an apprenticeship at 17 years of age with the well-known French school of stonemasonry, "Les Compagnons du Devoir". Régis' natural sensitivity for form and artistic flair led him to Carrara and later to the University of Valencia, Spain where he became involved in contemporary concepts of art.

Régis Chaperon's work has increasingly evolved from the figurative style to include abstraction and design. The pure and simple lines combine with the use of textures, creating contrasts between the polished finish and the natural break of the stone. Everything is aimed at revealing the beauty of the material, guided by fundamental concepts such as: dynamism and sensuality. It is important to Regis that his sculptures should be an approachable medium than everyone feels able to relate to.

Régis' sculptures are now in private collections in England, France and Spain and in galleries in London and Oxfordshire. He has public work in Germany and Italy and he works in public and private commissions worldwide. He specializes also in other kind of commissions such as street furniture, urban design, interior design where he brings together his artistic vision and his considerable technical knowledge of working with stone.
